Viscount Lymington (1898 - 1984)

Gerard Wallop, the Viscount Lymington and 9  Earl of Portsmouth was born in Chicago but was educated in England. In 1923 he took over a 150-acre farm on a family estate, and in 1937 formed the back-to-the-land & English Array. The movement was dedicated to the regeneration of the English stock and soil. After World War II he settled in Kenya, where he was eventually to own about ten thousand acres of land, and where he would remain for about 25 years.
