Gary Taylor is Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Social Policy at Sheffield Hallam University and has published a number of books and articles on social and political theory, the media, and social policy. He is currently working on a number of projects on citizenship including ones that focus on the broader implications of widening participation, the importance of community engagement and student perspectives on politics. His most recent book is Ideology and Welfare.
