Mark Gery, an independent Iraq analyst and affiliate speaker for the Education for Peace in Iraq Center and for Foreign Policy in Focus, is an expert on Saddam Hussein; the ideology, strategy, and history of the Baath Party; and the geopolitical forces behind the war in Iraq. He is active in the anti-war movement and is writing a comprehensive text on the U.S.-Iraq war entitled Desert Nightmare: The Truth About the Gulf War, the Middle East, and Saddam Hussein Challenge to America.
