Romano Amerio (1905 - 1997)

Romano Amerio, a man of broad and classical erudition,taught Philosophy, Greek, and Latin at the State Academy of Lugano, Switzerland, from 1928 to 1970. He holds degrees in Philosophy and Philology from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, Italy, where he served for years as an instructor in the history of philosophy. He was an episcopal consultant to the Central Preparatory Commission of Vatican II and was a friend of the late Giuseppe Cardinal Siri (1906-1989) of Genoa.
