Amintore Fanfani (1908 - 1999)

Amintore Fanfani was an Italian politician who served as prime minister of Italy six times (1954, 1958&9, 1960-1982-3) and president of the United Nations General Assembly (1965). A professor of political economy and economic history, he was nominated a life senator in 1972 and became president of the Italian Senate in 1968-73 and 1976-82. He was a member (and former secretary and chairman) of the Christian Democratic Party. He died in Rome on November 21, 1999.
